It started with a box of caterpillars. Watching my children, Willow and Wilder, witness the magic of transformation planted a question in me:
Why am I not doing more?
After years of work in oil and gas utilities, I saw chemicals being sprayed in stations and on right-of-ways that could otherwise support butterflies and biodiversity. Over the years, I eventually found it impossible ignore the gap between what we're doing to the land and what's possible in creating a more beautiful world for the future.
I founded Thistle & Timber Foundation to champion herbicide-free restoration of native grasslands, support monarch and pollinator habitat, and reconnect communities, especially young people, with the natural world
